PURE™ Support
Presence. Understanding. Respect. Encouragement.
Support doesn’t always mean having the right words.
It doesn’t mean fixing what hurts.
Sometimes support is simply knowing someone will show up, listen without judgment, respect your story and your dignity, remember tomorrow, and keep showing up after everyone else has gone home.
P — Presence
We show up.
U — Understanding
We listen.
R — Reassurance
We remind you that you are not alone and that it's okay to need support.
E — Encouragement
We remind you that hope is still possible.

PURE™ Isn’t Something We Provide.
It’s How We Choose to Show Up.
PURE™ Support is not a program someone has to qualify for.
It is not a checklist, a script, or a perfect set of words.
It is a choice to see the person standing in front of us before we see the grief, the addiction, the mistake, the diagnosis, the struggle, or the circumstance.
It means listening without rushing to fix.
Staying when the conversation gets uncomfortable.
Remembering after everyone else has moved on.
Reaching back out without waiting to be asked.
And recognizing that sometimes the most meaningful thing we can offer another human being is simply our presence.
We do not have to have the answers to show up.
We just have to care enough to stay.

See the Person Before the Problem.
Every person has a story we may know nothing about.
Grief. Addiction. Trauma. Loneliness. Mistakes. Recovery. A hard season of life.
Those things may be part of someone's story.
They are not the whole person.
Compassion asks us to look beyond the label.
To listen before we judge.
To protect dignity even when we do not understand.
To remember that a person should never have to prove they are worthy of kindness.
The problem may be what brought someone to us.
The person is why we stay.

We Go Looking.
Not everyone knows how to ask for help.
Sometimes the person carrying the most is the one who has become the quietest.
So we pay attention.
Who stopped coming around?
Who stopped answering?
Who has been unusually quiet?
Who just went through something difficult?
Who is everyone assuming is okay?
PURE™ Support does not always wait for someone to reach out first.
Sometimes compassion means making the call.
Sending the text.
Knocking on the door.
Remembering the date.
Checking again.
Not because we are trying to rescue someone.
Because we noticed.
Sometimes showing up begins with noticing who is missing.

The Day After
There is often a moment when everyone goes home.
The funeral ends.
The gathering is over.
The phone becomes quieter.
People return to work, school, families, and ordinary life.
But for the person carrying the loss, the struggle, or the life that suddenly changed, there may be nothing ordinary about the day that comes next.
That is the day we remember.
Not because we can take away what happened.
Not because we have the perfect words.
But because compassion should not disappear
when the immediate moment is over.
We call again.
We remember the date.
We sit down for coffee.
We ask how today is going, not how someone
thinks they are supposed to be doing by now.
Sometimes the greatest gift is simply becoming:
Someone who still remembered.

Sometimes Support Looks Small.
Compassion does not have to be complicated.
Sometimes it is a phone call.
A text that says, “I was thinking about you.”
A cup of coffee and a place to sit.
Remembering the birthday.
Remembering the anniversary.
Remembering the day everyone else may have forgotten.
Sometimes it is listening without giving advice.
Sitting quietly when there are no words.
Helping someone find a resource when
what they need is more than we can provide.
Or simply asking:
“How are you today?”
Not how you think you should be.
Not whether you are “better.”
Just today.
Small does not mean insignificant.
Sometimes the smallest act of compassion
is the one someone remembers.

Compassion Has No Boundaries.
You do not have to look like us.
Believe like us.
Live like us.
Have made the same choices we would have made.
Compassion is not something a person earns by having the right story.
There is room here for grief.
For addiction and recovery.
For loneliness.
For complicated families.
For people carrying regret.
For people rebuilding their lives.
For people whose stories we may never fully understand.
Race. Age. Faith. Culture. Sexuality. Politics. Income. Past. Mistakes. Burdens.
None of those things determine whether someone deserves to be treated with dignity.
We may not always understand one another.
We may not always agree.
But we can still choose compassion.
There is room for you here.

You Do Not Have to Carry It Alone.
Sometimes support is not advice.
Sometimes it is not an answer.
Sometimes it is simply knowing someone is willing to sit beside you while you find your way.
You are welcome here.
Just as you are.

Come As You Are.
You do not need to know exactly what you need before you reach out.
Maybe you need someone to listen.
Maybe you need a quiet place to sit.
Maybe you want to talk with others who understand.
Maybe you need help finding the next right resource.
Maybe you simply do not want to be alone today.
There is no perfect way to ask for support.
Start wherever you are. We can begin there.

What Happens When You Reach Out?
You do not need to prepare.
You do not need to have the right words.
You do not need to explain everything at once.
We start with a conversation.
We listen.
We learn what you are carrying.
We talk about what might help.
And together, we figure out what comes next.
Sometimes that means connection.
Sometimes it means resources.
Sometimes it simply means having someone stay beside you for a while.
No pressure. No judgment. Just a place to begin.

Ways We Can Connect.
There is no single way to need support, and there is no single way we have to connect.
Maybe you want to talk.
Maybe you would rather listen.
Maybe you need community.
Maybe you need help finding the next step.
Maybe you just need somewhere to begin.

One-on-One Connection
Sometimes a conversation is enough. We can sit down over coffee, talk by phone, connect virtually, take a walk, or simply spend a little time together. You do not need to prepare your story before you come.

Grief & Remembrance
Grief does not follow a schedule, and support should not disappear when the funeral is over. We can connect through conversations, remembrance, grief gatherings, meaningful dates, or simply making space for the person you still miss.

Circles & Community
Sometimes healing happens when people realize they are not the only ones carrying something. Small gatherings, support circles, community conversations, shared meals, and simple opportunities to sit together can create that connection.

Finding the Next Step
You may need something WÓWAUŊŠILA cannot provide directly. That is okay. We can help explore resources, identify possibilities, and find people or organizations better equipped to meet a particular need.

Show Up for Someone Else
Maybe you are here because you are worried about someone you love. You can reach out too. Sometimes the question is not “How do I fix this?” but simply “How can I show up well?” We can begin there together.

I’m Not Sure What I Need
That counts too.
You do not need to know what kind of support you need before reaching out. You do not need the right words or the right reason.
However we connect, the promise is the same:
You will be seen.
You will be heard.
You will matter.
Start wherever you are.

Whenever You’re Ready.
You do not have to wait until things get harder.
You do not have to know exactly what to say.
And you do not have to decide whether what you are carrying is “big enough” to deserve support.
If you need someone, reach out.
Send a message.
Make a call.
Ask a question.
Tell me you need help finding a resource.
Or simply say, “I’m not sure what I need.”
We can start there.
There may be times when I cannot answer immediately, but your message matters, and I will respond as soon as I am able.
If what you need is beyond what WÓWAUŊŠILA can provide, we can help look for the people and resources better equipped to walk with you.
You do not have to have it figured out before you knock on the door.
You are welcome here.
Pinky promise.
